“It is the most powerful AAC tool I’ve tried, yet it’s the simplest to use.”
Kara Lynn, Adult AAC User

“One of the main benefits that I have found, is the small size and it’s portability. I am currently using Proloquo2Go with a 20 year female client who was highly resistant to using standard AAC devices due to their large size. However, she is willing to use the Proloquo2Go since it doesn’t hold the stigma of being ’different’ or being ’disabled’.”

“I didn’t know what Katrina would think of the ability to do verb tenses - it’s not something that was available to her before unless I had programmed a particular tense onto a page. We looked at it for the first time on the bedtime routines page. I asked her one night if she wanted to use her ipod to talk - she shook her head no, but then I said there was a bedtime page and did she want to see it. She looked really intrigued and checked out all the buttons. She chose "I’m sleepy" (or whatever the exact text is) and then chose "sleep". I showed her the different tenses, she activated "slept", but then let me know that was not what she wanted to say and chose "will sleep" instead. The first time in her life that she was able to use a verb tense the way she wanted to. Previously, we had to deal around with things like "sleep"+"later".
To what she had on the message, she added signs for "Daddy Come" and she sent me with the iPod to show him. It’s really cool for me to see her excited to show people what she can do because she has typically not been wanting to do that.”
“Katrina used Proloquo2Go this afternoon to say "Hi, how are you?" to everyone at her doctor’s visit. This is a big deal. We have had her device with us for doctor visits before, but she usually is very shy and doesn’t let me get it out of her bag. She was so excited to have people see the ipod with P2G.”
