Step 1 - Try out an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad
If you can use an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad you can use Proloquo2Go. So, if you do not own one yet, it would be advisable to try one out before purchasing. Go to an Apple Store or Apple Reseller near you to try out the iPod touch, iPhone or iPad and make sure it works well for you. Alternatively, ask a friend or family member who owns one whether you can try the device.
You can now also try out Proloquo2Go itself on the iPads on display in Apple Stores worldwide.
Proloquo2Go can be used through the multi-touch display of the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad by the Proloquo2Go user, or if you want to use partner assisted scanning, by the partner.
If touching with your fingers is hard for you a Pogo stylus might help.
If you are not sure Proloquo2Go is the right AAC solution for you or your child it is a good idea to contact one of the resource centers for a loaner unit or evaluation. We think Proloquo2Go is great, but that does not mean it is the right solution for everyone, therefore a proper evaluation by an AAC specialist is often a good idea.
Step 2 - Get an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad
Proloquo2Go runs on the iPod touch 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation and the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4 and the iPad (the first generation iPod touch and iPhone no longer work as they no longer run Apple’s latests iOS version). Proloquo2Go takes up about 350 MB of space, leaving plenty of room for music, movies, and other apps on your device. If you download the additional voices these may take up another 100-400 MB depending on the number of voices you download and their size. You can purchase an iPod touch or an iPhone at Apple Stores, Best Buy Stores, and Walmart or their online stores. They are also available through many Apple resellers worldwide.

Step 3 - Get Speakers and Accessories
External speakers help the terrific high quality Acapela voices be heard loud and clear. While the iPhone and iPod touch have built in speakers, in many situations, you will want the added sound power provided by external speakers.
Some options are the iMaingo 2 speaker case. In addition to providing a speaker it protects your device. It even has a plastic screen protection. For some people this is just what they need, others cut out the plastic screen because it makes touches on the screen more responsive. Another good option is the X-mini to which you can attach a lanyard.

Step 4 - Download Proloquo2Go
Launch iTunes, log onto the App Store and purchase and download Proloquo2Go on iTunes. If you do not already have an iTunes account, you must create a user account with the iTunes Store. iTunes gift cards are a great way to give Proloquo2Go to someone you care about (but note that not all iTunes stores allow use of Gift cards for App purchases).
